Heartworks
Holmbury St Mary

Heartworks is a popular stop with SMCC especially in the summer months when we are out riding in the beautiful Mole Valley. Excellent choices for well tasting coffee, delicious cakes and bacon rolls on this farm. The staff is always friendly and service is quick, even if it is busy.
Cinnamon Cafe &

There are more choices of cafes when you get to Windsor but the Cinnamon Cafe is good choice not only for their cinnamon buns (they also come as a vegan option) but also because there is plenty of space to sit inside the station and to park the bike securely.
Windsor is a great ride option for winter rides or for those preferring a flat route.
Box Hill Cafe
Surrey

The infamous Box Hill featured in the 2012 Olympics 8 times but for SMCC riders ones is enough either as single out and back ride or as part of a number of climbs on the same day. What ever you decide, Box Hill Cafe is worth a stop for the great atmosphere from other riders. You an also take your coffee a little further to the view point with views over Surrey hills, Dorking and Denbies Vineyard.

Dabbling Duck
Shere

There is no way around it, the only way into Shere is down and the only way out is up. The Dabbling Duck is where we prepare our legs for Combe Lane with flapjack and caffeine. The DD offers great food as well as coffee and cakes - did we mention flapjacks?! The village of Shere is beautiful with many options to take in more hills on the way out or finish with Combe Lane. As we said: it’s hilly!
The Shop at the plough

Another popular stop in the Surrey Hills especially for sausage rolls. The routes to the ‘Shop at the Plough’ offers lots of hills but only with outdoor seating area either at the front or in their back patio garden.

Velolife
Warren Row

You get to Velolife via Windsor and the infamous Drift Road (famous for a bit of TT racing or chain gang practise). There is no short way to Velolife but its worth the flat ride for the many options of delicious cakes and great coffee. There is seating both inside and outside making it good for both summer and winter rides.

We do our popular ‘Away Days’ in the summer months on a Wednesday. We pack our bikes in the car and drive to Kent, The Chilterns, The New Forest or other places but somewhere a SMCC member has a connection with or an interest to go and visit.

A new but increasingly popular place to stop for cyclists to get a caffein hit to make it home. Excellent stop for food and winter rides.

Day Out
There and back on two wheels
In this section you will find longer routes for a full day out on the bike starting from Twickenham. Follow the link for the Devils Punch Bowl, all of London Bridges, Monopoly Board, the Octopus from Twickenham and 8 times up Leith Hill. Plenty of riding to get on with on sunny days.
Crocus at Dorney Court Cafe

Dorney is a great destination for winter rides especielly stopping by at the Crocus at Dorney Court Cafe. Where you can pull your bike through teh cafe to park safely in their courtyard garden on a winter morning. There are various options to go to Dorney either via Windsor or Maidenhead with most of the routes being around 55 miles (88k).

Wargrave

Wonderful cafe with good wholesome food and cakes. As the name suggest the coffee is pretty good as well with them being specialists! Flat routes and good for a longer winter ride.
Polesden Lacey
Dorking

Polesden Lacey is a National Trust house with two great cafes offering good area to store your bike, several indoor and outdoor seating areas in a beautiful setting.
Although, shorter some of the routes can still be quite punchy in places.
The Milk Churn

Spacious, good coffee and award winning cheese on toast! A great stop on a sunny day or on the way to Shoreham.
Tanhouse

Another great ride in and such a beautiful location. The cafe has plenty of space inside and outside with views to fields and a few donkeys which is the highlight for many of our riders.
